Exciting opportunities at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust have arisen.  The vascular scanning department is one of the largest in London which covers services over three sites, Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. We have close relationships with the consultants and the LAVVU team, especially at Charing Cross with clinics, scanning rooms and a LAVVU theatre all on the same floor. We are seeking a Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team of 11 clinical vascular scientists plus 3 STP students.

The job involves an interesting case load, we perform the full spectrum of vascular scans, plus specialist investigations such as AV fistula, TCD, TCCD?for sickle cell and mesenterics for MALS and nutcracker syndrome. We support continued professional development, with interests in research, teaching or the SVT actively encouraged.  Non-clinical time is allocated for CPD and unit responsibilities. There are regular opportunities to attend conferences including the annual SVT and CX symposium. We are an accredited STP & HSST training centre and play an active role in the programme. We would expect you to be independently scanning and reporting, and accredited with the Society for Vascular Technology.

If applying for the senior clinical vascular scientist post we would require an appropriate level of post-training experience. As a senior scientist you will cover the lead role at each site when necessary, ensuring a robust, efficient and effective running of the service. The role would be great for someone with a special interest in audit and research. Your responsibilities will include taking the lead in our audit programme, ensuring the department is achieving the standards necessary for us to achieve IQIPS accreditation. You role will also be involved in leading the departments research activity, such as liaising and attending meetings with the Imperial College vascular research team and raising the profile of the department in this area.
