If you are AVS with a passion for ensuring quality and standards, then the vacancies on the Professional Standards Committee may be a role for you. You will be required to attend quarterly meetings in London and work outside of this time on delivery of projects set by the committee or chair. We regularly update the PPGs, as well as drive new standards of practice and professional development. We hope to also produce webinars in the next year.

We will review and appoint new members by committee vote on 12th Jan 2024, so all applications need to be submitted before this date.
If you are interested in joining us in shaping the education and ongoing professional development of vascular scientists nationally, then one of the following Education Committee Vacancies may be for you!
1) Revision Days Officer
This Revision Days Officer sits on the Education Committee and is responsible to organise and deliver the Springtime 2 day revision course?for all training scientists. Alongside this, you would be required to attend 4 in person meetings per year, usually held in Birmingham, reporting on updates within the role and providing input at the meeting on all other topics discussed relating to SVT education.
The candidate would need to have good communication and timely organisational skills.
2) Education Pathways Representative
The Education Pathways Representative sits on the Education Committee and is the liaison between the education providers or awarding bodies (e.g. NSHCS/degree providers) and the SVT GB&I at all education levels and supports the development of the career framework for Vascular Science in accordance with the SVT vision and Vascular Science workforce requirements. You would be required to attend 4 in person meetings per year, usually held in Birmingham, reporting on updates within the role and providing input at the meeting on all other topics discussed relating to SVT education.
The candidate would need to have good communication skills and knowledge and/or experience of all current training pathways in Vascular Science (from level 2-8). Having knowledge or experience in curriculum writing would also be helpful but is not essential.
